Every script has its own logic, rhythm, and emotional pulse, even if the piece isn’t fully formed yet. My work is to help you hear what the script is reaching toward and uncover the pathways that lead to a stronger, more resonant draft.

Script consulting isn’t about delivering the “right” answers, but about asking the right questions: Where is the story’s center? What does each scene want to accomplish? Why does the energy accelerate—or stall? How do the choices you’ve made bring the world of the piece into focus?

My background as an actor has given me a deep understanding of character; my years as a director have taught me how structure lives in time and space; and my work as a writer has revealed how exhilarating—and sometimes excruciating—it is to create something from nothing. Through decades of dramaturgy and artistic leadership, I’ve learned how to meet a script exactly where it is.

When I read your work, I’m listening for intention, precision, and possibility. I look for clarity in structure, truth in character, momentum in storytelling, and for the places where the script is asking for more depth, specificity, daring, or coherence. I’m also listening for what’s already working—the heartbeat beneath the draft.

My aim is not to reshape your voice, but to help you strengthen it. I want to offer tools, insights, and questions that open the next door and support the story you’re trying to tell with greater confidence and clarity.

This is the work I love, and it’s work I look forward to doing with you.
“A pleasure to work with—patient, kind, supportive, and thorough.”
— Carl Hendricks Lewis
